Discovering Symi

Welcome to Greece and the beautiful island of Symi in the middle of the Aegean Sea. Symi is part of the Dodecanese island chain, located about forty-one kilometers northwest of Rhodes, featuring fifty-eight-point one square kilometers of mountainous terrain.In this episode we will witness the beauty of Symi’s capital, Gialos, and its neighbouring district of Chorio.We’ll also learn more about the hospitable harbor of the island, a popular resting place for sailors to park up and explore.Symi is home to a long tradition of shipbuilding, handmade boats with real charm, and we will discover this handiwork for ourselves.We’ll then visit the historic castle before taking a ride on a traditional Grecian boat, exploring the hidden splendor of this magnificent island.We finish off our tour of the island experiencing the imposing monastery of Archangel Panormitis.
